World Vision’s 3rd Virtual CSR Summit Puts the Spotlight on Meaningful Initiatives in Davao

Leaders from different sectors in Davao are coming together to share learnings from their COVID-19 advocacy projects and programs in World Vision’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit in Davao on May 25, 2021.

A follow-up event from its first edition in October 2020 and the CSR Summit in Cebu last March 2021, the CSR Summit in Davao will feature industry leaders from the region who will discuss their respective social responsibility projects and campaigns and share how they worked together to help the most vulnerable individuals amidst the growing threat of COVID-19.

With the private sector and partnerships playing a significant and critical role in nation-building, World Vision is mounting the third edition of its CSR Summit to highlight the importance of doing CSR at this crucial time.

The region of Davao has recorded more than 24,000 COVID-19 cases, more than a year after its first patient was confirmed. With the easing of quarantine orders in the entire country, Davao is still at the forefront of providing the utmost care in handling the current pandemic situation. The city’s “Test, Trace, Treat” strategies in containing the virus have been vital in trying to contain the virus, citing also the importance of the public and private partnerships and initiatives in tackling the pandemic.

The online event, entitled “Doing Good is Good Business”, will be streamed live this May 25, 2021, 2 PM on World Vision Philippines’ official Facebook page.

The CSR Summit in Davao will also be looking into how individuals can contribute to the emerging needs of their community’s most vulnerable, as well as how businesses can provide support to those in need amidst the rising challenges of the pandemic.

Participating business leaders for the CSR Summit in Davao include representatives from Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Dow Indonesia, and Mega Global Corporation.

“Davao’s business leaders have really exemplified their bayanihan spirit through their CSR programs during this pandemic. World Vision is honored for the opportunity to share some of their stories and learnings for the third edition of CSR Summit,” said Mr. Rommel Fuerte, World Vision National Director.

“Similar to our previous CSR Summits for Manila and Cebu, we look forward to discussing the different ways we can reach out and help more individuals and communities in this challenging times. Together, let us be inspired to achieve hope, joy and justice for all children.”
